The da Vinci Technology
The da Vinci Xi surgical system is an advanced platform which allows your surgeon to perform minimally invasive surgery with an advanced set of wristed instruments and a 3D high-definition view of the surgical area. This technology, combined with your surgeon’s clinical expertise allows for many types of complex procedures to be performed with more precision, flexibility and control.
What is the da Vinci Surgical System?
The da Vinci System consists of three key components including: an ergonomically designed console which is positioned next to the patient during surgery, and a 3DHD vision system.
The da Vinci system translates the surgeon’s hand movements at the console in real time, allowing intuitive motion which move like the human hand, but with a greater range of motion.
The surgeon remains 100% in control of surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, the robot’s wrist instruments act to filter and translate the surgeons into smaller precise movements, working inside the patient’s body.
What procedures can the da Vinci Surgical System be used for?
The da Vinci Surgical System can be used to perform a range of procedures at Westmead Private Hospital across colorectal, general, gynaecology and urology.
